Tickets for An Evening with David Brooks

August 14, 2024

Baylor Faculty and Staff:

The Baylor University Office of the President and the Office of the Provost are looking forward to hosting David Brooks on September 10 at 6:30 p.m. for a special event in Waco Hall.

Mr. Brooks is a best-selling author, columnist, commentator, and member of the American Academy of the Arts and Sciences. Given his knowledge of present-day politics and foreign affairs, we expect his visit will continue to foster the spirit of respect and understanding that undergirds President Livingstone’s Baylor Conversation Series on civil discourse.

The evening lecture with Mr. Brooks is free, but a ticket will be required for admission. Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so securing tickets early is strongly encouraged – we anticipate high demand.

Faculty and staff may access tickets now using the general campus ticketing system, and you are welcome to bring guests, who will also require a ticket for admission. For Baylor students, faculty and staff who are part of online programs or are not located in Waco, a virtual opportunity will be made available and additional details will be shared soon.

We understand some faculty members may want their students to attend this lecture, and we are committed to providing as much seating as possible. If you plan to require or incentivize student attendance to this lecture, please let the provost's chief of staff, Dr. Kristina Campos-Davis, know how many tickets you will need for your class. Students will still be required to secure tickets on their own, but this information will help with planning.

Please note Baylor University’s clear bag policy and other security protocols will be in use, and sign language interpretation will be available.

We hope to see you there!

Nancy Brickhouse, Ph.D.
Provost
