As chief academic officer, Nancy Brickhouse is responsible for the University's twelve colleges and schools, its research enterprise, University Libraries, as well as Baylor's centers and institutes.

Mary Alexander is responsible for the annual budgeting process for academic units, the financial components of hiring, the execution of strategic initiatives, and providing financial analytical support to the provost, vice provosts, deans, and directors in the academy. She also works with various stakeholders and project teams across the university in support of the strategic plan.

Gary Carini is responsible for campus-wide, data-driven decision-making and the development and implementation of professional education, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Included in this portfolio is the oversight of the Baylor University Career Center (BUCC), serving all students as they pursue their careers of choice as well as extended non-credit learning opportunities at Baylor University.

Kevin Chambliss' office provides faculty with resources for obtaining and managing funding to support research and scholarship, helps them to collaborate with entities outside the university, and pursues technology transfer and licensing opportunities with industry. His office also provides administrators with research-related information to support decision-making and assists other units with research-related publicity.

Eduardo Contreras provides oversight to the Center for Global Engagement (including Study Abroad and International Student and Scholar Services), Global Baylor (Quality Enhancement Plan), and the Global Gateway Program.

Larry Lyon is a vice provost as well as dean of the Graduate School. He provides the provost with strategic insight on issues related to graduate students, programs, and faculty.

Wesley (Wes) Null provides a common vision for all undergraduate programs, manages the university's SACSOC accreditation efforts, and coordinates with all academic units to achieve goals related to student success.

In collaboration with academic deans and other senior leaders, Steve Reid assists in articulating how Baylor’s commitment to diversity emanates from our Christian mission while also being solutions-oriented. Among his responsibilities are developing resources, strategies, and infrastructure to increase and retain underrepresented faculty by ensuring networks of support and belonging across the array of diverse Christian identities at the University.

DeAnna Toten Beard manages faculty-related processes and policies, including hiring, evaluation, and tenure and promotion. 

Jeff Strietzel liaises between Baylor’s division of university advancement and the Office of the Provost. He helps communicate Baylor’s high-impact innovations and multidisciplinary approaches to address societal problems that are most aligned with Baylor’s strategic plan.
