Administrative Appointments

Faculty may be given administrative appointments as academic leaders within the various schools, colleges, and programs of study at Baylor. These appointments are given in addition to faculty appointments. 

All faculty appointments, including administrative appointments, require an official offer of employment, which is only extended in the form of a formal contract or letter of agreement on a template approved by the Office of Provost. Verbal offers or informal agreements are not valid or binding. 

Initial Appointments
  1. Positions are listed in Interfolio Faculty Search (see the Interfolio Faculty Search Guide).
  2. The appointee completes the application to document the approval process of their appointment.
  3. The approval process is documented through the Interfolio workflow, and a contract in TCM will be issued for a specified term. 
Renewals
  1. Each school will create one posting in Interfolio Faculty Search (see the Interfolio Faculty Search Guide) for all administrative appointment renewals in that academic year cycle. The administrative appointment posting for each college/school will stay "live" until all administrative appointments have been submitted and contracts issued.
  2. Everyone up for renewal, regardless of title, completes the application to document the approval process of their appointment.
  3. The approval process is documented through the Interfolio workflow, and contracts in TCM will be issued for a specified term.
