Assistant/Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Success

The assistant/associate vice provost for undergraduate success will work closely with the vice provost for undergraduate education and faculty affairs (VPUE) and faculty and staff from across the University to achieve goals related to student success at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will have experience working with undergraduates, will have expertise related to student success (specifically the improvement of retention and graduation rates), and will be able to articulate a vision for how to ensure that all Baylor undergraduates have access to a high-quality education within the context of a Christian research university.
This is a part-time position, and successful candidates will retain their faculty roles within their home departments. The successful candidate will receive an administrative stipend, and his/her home department will receive support to free up time for the candidate to serve in this role. Details will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct reports:
- Director of Major Exploration and Success Advising.
- Program Manager for Pre-Law.
- Specific areas of oversight:
- Advising Leadership Council.
- Transfer credit.
- Undeclared students.
- Curriculum management with VPUE (when appropriate).
- Collaboration across the Success Center to achieve student success goals.
- Pre-College Programs (alongside the VPUE and staff within the Success Center):
- Accelerate.
- Baylor Bridge.
- Conduct research on student success.
- Liaison to the Faculty-in-Residence Council.
- Liaison with Undergraduate Admissions.
Qualifications
- In addition to the qualifications listed above, all candidates must currently hold a full-time faculty position at Baylor. All senior lecturers, associate/full clinical faculty, and tenured faculty at the rank of associate professor or professor are welcome to apply.
